Netflix releases official trailer for Marvel’s Iron Fist

Seems Netflix has been spreading its huge announcements out just a bit, giving each some time to breathe before dropping another highly awaited look in our laps. It’s been a few days since we got our first teaser glimpse at the second season of Stranger Things, and today Netflix has upped the ante. Marvel’s Iron Fist is the final stand alone series leading up to the unveiling of The Defenders. Previous members, of course, include Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage, all of which have had their own Netflix Original series.

The official trailer gives a quick look into the backstory of Danny Rand — a.k.a. The Iron Fist. Presumed dead after his family’s plane crashed, Danny (Finn Jones) was the sole survivor. Or as Netflix succinctly says:

Billionaire Danny Rand (Finn Jones) returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

In the trailer we get to see Danny return to civilization and immediately be questioned, though we also see that he’s not to be trifled with, easily subduing the security guards looking to escort him outside. We get to see a bit of setup into the struggles Danny will face, there are some awesome fight scenes, and of course, the glue that holds each of these Marvel series together: Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. Claire just seems to have a knack for running into the members of the Defenders, whether she knows what they will ultimately become or not. By this point, she knows pretty quickly what she’s dealing with, which can be nothing but a help to Danny as he looks to unravel the troubles with his family’s company.

Marvel’s Iron Fist will premiere on March 17th, 2017 at 12:01 am, at which point you’ll be able to binge on all thirteen one-hour episodes in Season 1. Are you excited to see more Iron Fist? Tell us what you think in the comment section below, or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
