[RUMOR] Samsung Galaxy Book targets potential Surface Pro 5 buyers

Microsoft has stirred up excitement over its Surface Pro lineup over the years and its Surface Book has gathered its own praises and great reviews. The Surface Pro 5 is due to be announced in the coming months and Samsung intends on getting in on the action. Reports are that the Samsung Galaxy Book (rumored name) will be announced ahead of the Surface Pro 5 in hopes of snagging some potential Microsoft buyers.

“Samsung could be preparing the launch of something rather powerful to go along with its upcoming Galaxy S8 smartphone. The company is reportedly readying a new tablet powered by Microsoft’s Windows 10 software that could be launched as early as this weekend.”

“One main reason to choose the Galaxy TabPro S over the Surface Pro 4 is battery life. Unless you use the Surface Pro 4 on the “Battery Saver” mode, the battery life is dismal. One hour of heavy use with the Galaxy TabPro S with the brightness set at 75 percent (which is pretty high for the Super AMOLED screen) only depletes 12 percent battery life.”

The alleged Samsung Galaxy Book could be an effort to polish up the Galaxy name after the Samsung Galaxy Note7 debacle which has hurt not only the Galaxy name but Samsung in general. With the upcoming launch of the Galaxy S8, Samsung wants to reinforce their premium brand name and what better way than to introduce a device to compete against the Surface Pro.

However things shake out, Samsung still has much ground to make up after the Note7 fires. The reputation of the brand as a whole has suffered and consumers will need good reasons to go back and try them again.
