Tapping into the dry comedic talent that is Will Arnett, Netflix has released a teaser trailer for something called Netflix LIVE! Interestingly enough, the tail end of the teaser states “…one day early” which leads us to suspect — highly — that this is an April Fool’s Day gag.
Toasters toasting. Grass growing. Fans blowing. With Netflix Live, you can experience life’s biggest thrills, right from the comfort of your couch.
Considering Will Arnett is in the teaser, and the description, not to mention the fact that other April Fool’s gags are already starting to surface, perhaps Netflix LIVE! will give us alternatives for the traditional looping Christmas fireplace that shows up every December. I mean hey, why not stream grass growing or fans blowing?
Joking aside, YouTube recently announced their TV service in the U.S., so is it really a stretch to think that it might be something that could come to Netflix as well down the road? I could honestly see them going with specific live performances, much like the live NBC musicals that have been popping up over the last year or so. Either way, we’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see exactly what Netflix might — or might not — have in store.
