David Gilmour Live At Pompeii will be debuting in over 2,000 theaters worldwide on September 13th and I couldn’t be more excited. As much as I would have liked to have been at the actual live show, David Gilmour Live At Pompeii in full 4K in a theater is the next best thing. If you’ve been following me for any duration of time, you know that I absolutely love Pink Floyd and David Gilmour. Both the band and the man have been a major influence on both a personal and creative level and last year I finally got to experience David’s live show.

If you’re not a Pink Floyd fan and need some background. The band took over the ruins at Pompeii to perform and make a video. All these years later, David Gilmour Live At Pompeii sees the return of some Pink Floyd classics in a venue that is synonymous with the band’s identity and roots.

The project captures the guitarist over two nights in July of 2016 at the legendary Pompeii Amphitheatre in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius, 45 years after he first played there for Adrian Maben’s classic film, Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii.

“It’s a magical place,” says Gilmour, “and coming back and seeing the stage and the arena was quite overwhelming. It’s a place of ghosts…”

As with all David Gilmour concerts, David Gilmour Live At Pompeii will feature classic Pink Floyd songs alongside Gilmour’s own impressive solo works. Many songs from his “Rattle That Lock” album and “On An Island” album will likely be included.

It’s important to note that this is going to be an ONE-night event so if you want to see this documentary/concert film in the theater, this is it. You can buy your tickets now at http://www.davidgilmourcinematickets.com/
