Telltale Games and Mojang have announced that Episode 1 of Minecraft: Story Mode – Season 2 will debut on July 11th. The follow-up to the popular Minecraft: Story Mode series continues after the events of the first episodic game. Choices made in the first season will carry over to the second season but aren’t necessary to enjoy the new episodes.

Now that Jesse and the gang have vanquished the Wither Storm, saved the world, and become totally super famous heroes, life has gotten a bit more… complicated. With more responsibilities and less time for adventure, old friendships have started to fade — at least until Jesse’s hand gets stuck in a creepy gauntlet that belongs to an ancient underwater temple. Together with old pals and new comrades alike, Jesse embarks on a brand new journey filled with tough choices, good times, and at least one temperamental llama.

Patton Oswalt, Catherine Tabler, Ashley Johnson, and Scott Porter will return to lend their voices to the game and cameos from Stampy Cat, stacyplays, and other YouTube personalities will also appear.

Telltale’s Crowd Play feature which has been added to recent Telltale games, which allows others to help decide the story direction, will also be part of Minecraft: Story Mode – Season 2.

Neither Minecraft nor Minecraft: Story Mode are required to play the second season. The first episode will be available for download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS, and Android devices on July 11th with future episodes released at later dates. A retail version will be available in the fall.
