Tesla Model 3 reportedly set to go on sale this Friday

The much anticipated Tesla Model 3 is reportedly set to go on sale this Friday. The Tesla Model 3 will be priced much lower than its big brother starting at $35,000USD. Many states participate in the $7500USD tax rebate making it a $27,500USD purchase. Many users have been waiting for the Tesla Model 3 due to the lower more affordable price tag. The Model 3’s range is expected to be around 215 miles with a zero to sixty time of under six seconds. If you’re not familiar with Tesla’s instant torque, just check out YouTube for examples.

Of course, the Tesla P85D is much faster than the Tesla Model 3 will be, but you get the idea. Elon Musk took to Twitter to give some tidbits about what’s happening with the Model 3.

Musk had said that production was on track to start in July, but Tesla has often faced delays in getting vehicles to market. The Palo Alto, California-based company aims to make 5,000 Model 3 sedans per week by the end of this year and 10,000 per week in 2018.

Tesla hasn’t said how many people have put down $1,000 refundable deposits for the Model 3, but Musk has said people who put down a deposit now won’t get a car until the end of 2018, suggesting it could be close to 500,000.

Tesla is facing stiffer competition with GM, Toyota and other car manufacturers ramping up their electric vehicle marketing and production. Still, one of the things we prefer about Tesla is their design language. Musk’s choice of a sportier looking vehicle could be a deciding factor for many. You have to admit the Model 3 looks much nicer than a Prius.
