Panels with actors, directors, and showrunners are a huge draw at San Diego Comic Con (and other comic conventions). This year is no exception and SDCC 2017 has been an exceptionally good year for teasers, sneak peaks, and trailers for upcoming TV shows and movies. Rather than post them all individually, we thought we’d take a look at some of what’s in store in the comic-related world of television and movies for the next year or so in a single post.

In no particular order, here we go!

Thor: Ragnorok

We’ve definitely been following the progress of the next Thor movie and the MCU here at Techaeris, and now we have a better look at what to expect in Thor: Ragnorok.

Justice League

DC might finally be on the right track with the recent success of Wonder Woman. It’s already been given the greenlight for a sequel, and Gal Gadot will be reprising her role next in the upcoming Justice League.

The Walking Dead (Season 8)

Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead comic has definitely had its ups and downs in during the AMC TV series adaptation. Last season was a bit slow, but showrunners have indicated the next season will step things up a notch and if the sneak peak below is any indication, it should be a good season!

It’s all-out war in Season 8. Don’t miss the Season 8 Premiere of The Walking Dead, Sunday, October 22 at 9/8c on AMC.

That last scene is certainly intriguing…

Fear the Walking Dead (Season 3)

Fear the Walking Dead, the spinoff from The Walking Dead, hasn’t fared as well. Slated to the summer time slot probably doesn’t help much, but if you’ve been watching you can check out what’s in store during the second half of season 3 when it returns in September.

Stranger Things (Season 2)

The first trailer for Netflix’s Stranger Things 2 is finally here.

It’s 1984 and the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are still reeling from the horrors of the demogorgon and the secrets of Hawkins Lab. Will Byers has been rescued from the Upside Down but a bigger, sinister entity still threatens those who survived.

Marvel’s The Defenders

Netflix’s Marvel collaboration is finally coming full circle as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and the Iron Fist join forces next month.

Blind ninja. Smart-ass detective. Bulletproof ex-con. Kung Fu billionaire. Marvel’s The Defenders centers on four outsider heroes that have to put aside their personal issues and come together when a villainous sect threatens to destroy New York City as we know it. The Netflix original series launches globally on August 18, 2017.

Ready Player One

Long a pop culture classic, Ready Player One is also getting the big screen treatment. The Steven Spielberg film is coming to theaters March 30, 2018.

Preacher (Season 2)

Preacher is one of those quirky, twisted, violent, gonzo, yet fun shows. Season 2 is already underway on AMC, but that didn’t stop them from releasing another second season trailer at SDCC 2017.

American Horror Story: Cult (Season 7)

American Horror Story has been one of those TV series that has been pretty intriguing. Covering everything from witches to insane asylums, ghosts and everything in between, the seventh season of AMC’s horror series tackles cults. If you’re coulrophobic, you may want to skip this one.

The LEGO NINJAGO Movie

LEGO movies have been doing fairly well lately, and Warner Bros. is back in September with The LEGO NINJAGO Movie.

“The LEGO NINJAGO® Movie”  – in cinemas October 13 – starring Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, Zach Woods, and the legendary Jackie Chan.
