Have you ever had your bike stolen? If not, do you ever wonder just how secure your bike lock is? Deeper is looking to ease those concerns and bring peace of mind to bike owners with their high-tech, GPS-powered bike lock.

Bike theft isn’t a new problem, and thieves are finding ways to circumvent traditional locks. While there are other smart locks on the market, Deeper claims the Deeper Lock is the first ever GPS-powered bike security system which includes tracking, anti-theft notification alerts, a 100dB audible alarm, keyless locking, remote sharing, and more. Deeper Lock is constructed from hardened steel and alloy and operates in extreme temperatures for those who cycle all year round.
Deeper Lock attaches to your bike via the seat stay mounting holes if equipped, and if not, fastening straps are included for easy mounting. The lock can be used on any bike as long as the following criteria are met:
- Your bike has standard seat stays and the distance between the seat tube and the outer edge of rear wheel (or fender) should be 65mm/2.56″ or more
- The width of your tire is not more than 64mm/2.5″
- The height from the inner wheel edge to the outer tire edge is not more than 93mm/3.6″
Named an Innovation Award Honoree at CES, Deeper has launched an all-or-nothing Kickstarter campaign in order to bring the Deeper Lock to market. It’s already off to a good start and is over 25% funded after its launch yesterday. With an anticipated retail price of $299USD, the Super Early Bird price is $179, a significant saving, and includes a free year of GPS tracking. For an additional $50, you can add 3 more years for a total of 4 years of GPS tracking.

Deeper Lock: The Smartest, Toughest Bike Security System ever is here
1.5 million bikes are stolen in the US every year, 70 bikes every day in Berlin and 1 every 90 seconds in the UK. These are just the official figures, the real numbers could be 5 times as high. Traditional bike locks are not working, thieves can break a traditional lock whether it is a chain, U-lock or wire lock. They can get through these in under 10 seconds, making them virtually pointless.
In response to high levels of bike crime and the inadequacy of conventional locks, Deeper Lock, the smartest toughest bike security system ever, has launched on Kickstarter. It’s a complete security system operated from your smartphone, and features GPS tracking, unlimited range anti-theft alerts via GSM, a 110dB alarm. Moreover there is a hardened steel locking element, twin solar panels for self charging and access sharing through the Deeper Lock app.
Here’s how it works: Deeper Lock syncs with your smartphone. You lock and unlock using the app through an encrypted Bluetooth connection. And once it’s locked, a chain-reaction of anti-theft technologies kick in if someone touches your bike:
- 110dB Alarm raise – enough to deter many thieves.
- Then an anti-theft alert is sent direct your smartphone – now the clock is ticking for the thief.
