HTC Announces New GM Of Hong Kong And Macau

HTC today announced the appointment of Cedric So as General Manager of Hong Kong and Macau. He will be responsible for the regions’ operations, channels management, sales and overall business development.

“Hong Kong and Macau have always been an important target market for the Asia region. We are very excited to welcome Cedric So to HTC,” said Jack Tong, Head of China and President of North Asia. “With his extensive leadership and sales experience, he will lead the region’s team in product planning in addition to market and channels development, helping HTC establish a stable foundation in Greater China.”

Cedric So has extensive experience in operations, retail, brand, and channels management. Before joining HTC, So was the Managing Director at Crown Motors Ltd. and was responsible for Hong Kong’s sales, marketing and distribution. So has over 20 years of experience in the consumer electronics industry, previously holding executive-level positions in Apple and Motorola.

HTC is in need of some shake up to get their brand moving again. There is nothing wrong with their hardware or software, it is some of the best on the market. We are of the opinion they need someone who understands marketing. Let’s see if these personnel moves make any difference for them.
