So we all know that the Moto G was just announced up for grabs in the US market for an awesome $179 off contract. But upon going to order a Moto G you will notice that there is no CDMA option. Although CDMA is listed in “Networks” under the specs section, see below.
Networks
- Global GSM Model: GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
UMTS/HSPA+ up to 21 Mbps (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz)
US GSM Model: GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
UMTS/HSPA+ up to 21 Mbps (850, 1700 (AWS), 1900 MHz)
CDMA Model: CDMA/EVDO Rev A (850, 1900 MHz)
So we reached out to Motorola to try and answer the question. Is there going to be a CDMA version of the Moto G? The answer we received was. Yes, they are currently working on a CDMA version of the Moto G but they have no release date as of yet. That is all the information they were willing to give. But Sprint and Verizon customers, here’s hoping you get the Moto G soon.
