With mobile security and privacy becoming more and more of a concerning around the world. Well Silent Circle and Geeksphone are teaming up to try and make that less of a problem with Blackphone.

The Blockphone runs a custom Android version they call PrivatOS which is a security driven OS, “individuals and organizations the ability to make and receive secure phone calls, exchange secure texts, transfer and store files, and video chat without compromising user privacy on the device,” Silent Circle said. The specs of the phone have not been announced but they promise it will compete with today’s high end smartphones. Additionally the phone will be unlocked and on the GSM spectrum, it will also never be tied to one carrier.
