Shifty Jelly, creators of the beloved podcasting app Pocket Casts, have issued an update to the Android version of the app. Pocket Casts v4.5 now brings the promised and greatly anticipated Chromecast support to the service. As you may recall, Pocket Casts was on my list of three Android apps you should use that we put out earlier this year.
Chromecast support is not all the update brought along to its users, though. There’s now an Up Next playlist, which allows you to rearrange the playlist you’re currently casting and watching or listening to, podcast artwork color detection that changes the color of the Pocket Casts interface, and an updated Android UI to stay in line with the updated Android design guidelines put forth by Google when they released Android 4.4 KitKat.

Google continues to work with its Android app developers to bring streaming support to users’ favorite apps, expanding both the catalog of supported apps and Chromecast’s user base.
