1968 Chevrolet Camaro 427 COPO, The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of

|

The 1968 Chevrolet Camaro was and still remains one of the top 3 cars of my dreams. As a kid I remember looking at classic car magazines and drooling over the ’68 Camaro anytime there was one featured. When I finally earned my license at the age of 16 there was a used car dealership that had a ’68 SS for sale. I remember it like it was yesterday. Metallic blue with the stock rally rims and that signature Camaro look about it, it was heaven.

I used to drive by that dealership every other day just to take that car in, I’d sit in it and just imagine myself motoring down the road in it. I finally got the guts to ask my dad to come take a look at it and see if he would help me buy it. He amused my request. We drove to the dealership and dad gave the Camaro the once over. He paced back and forth sighing and scratching his head. I could tell in his heart he wanted me to have this beauty, but I could see in his eyes the price tag wasn’t in reach. I walked away that day crushed, the car of my dreams slipped through my fingers.

Fast forward to today and the ’68 Camaro has once again ignited my imagination, thanks to Tim Allen and Jay Leno. Tim’s ’68 Camaro 427 COPO was featured on Leno’s Garage and I soaked up every minute of that episode. Everything about Tim’s ’68 is just perfect! Tim Allen has rebuilt the Camaro I would have built if I had the money and resources! Color me jealous! The thing is beautiful, awe inspiring, muscly and just downright amazing! Check out the episode of Jay Leno’s Garage below and you be the judge for yourself. Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Facebook and Twitter what is the car of your dreams?
