A&E Kills Longmire Without Explanation

There are only a handful of television shows that ever grab my attention for more than one season and Longmire just so happens to be one of them. So I was saddened, disappointed and enraged to find out A&E cancelled one of its more popular shows. There was no plans made for a finale show or any kind of respect given to the cast and crew of such a wonderful series, no, just a cancellation notice… you’re done. With over 4 million viewers per episode you would think A&E would have given much more of a damn than it seems.

This is a show that has a lot of mileage in it. The acting was excellent and the stories were amazing. This is one of those shows that could run 7 to 8 seasons with ease. But there was no reasons given for the sudden cutting of the throat. Fans of the show are now left to hope that another network will pick up the series and continue on with it. With the excellent viewership and ratings it’s in the realm of possibility that we could see that happen. Season 3 ended with a cliffhanger and the fans are sure hoping that they can get closure with one more season at least.

Longmire is the highest rated “scripted” show on A&E with Duck Dynasty taking the highest rated overall. There’s not much I personally watch on A&E so you can bet my TV won’t be tuning into their network any longer. What do you think? Were you a Longmire fan? Think the show has a chance on another network? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below or on Google+, Facebook and Twitter.
