HTC Nexus 9 Accidentally Confirmed By Nvidia

|

Rumors have swirled for quite awhile regarding an HTC made Nexus tablet.  Though the Taiwanese manufacturer hasn’t released a tablet in several years, and the tablet devices they have released have not met with much commercial success, the whispers of an HTC Nexus 9 tablet have persisted.  Now, by way of a legal document, Nvidia has all but guaranteed we’ll be seeing a new HTC Nexus entry in the near future.

Nvidia is embroiled in some legal wrangling with Qualcomm and Samsung related to their GPU technology, and in part of the complaint they go on to detail some of the devices that will use their new Tegra K1 processor.  The documents have since been removed from Nvidia’s site, but as we all know, the Internet never forgets:

What does this tell us?  For one thing, the long-rumored HTC Nexus 9 ought to be screaming fast.  The Tegra K1 is a beast, and should power the device quite capably.  If the leaked images, and Android Police’s leaked specs are to be believed, we can see that HTC’s design acumen remains quite sharp, and this tablet ought to blow nearly everything else out of the water.

We can’t say anything for sure until the device is officially unveiled, but based on what we’ve seen so far, HTC and Google could have a real winner on their hands.

While many of the specs are still rumor and speculation, does Nvidia’s confirmation (and the news that this device will include the Tegra K1) pique your interest at all? Let us know in the comments, or on your favorite social network.
