SNL Star Wars Trailer Features Geriatric Stars

Last night on Saturday Night Live, the cast and crew took on the trailer for Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens. The SNL Star Wars trailer shows a combination of clips from the real trailer, mixed with SNL cast footage of Han Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Lando Calrissian, and Chewbacca… all getting along in years.

An overweight Princess Leia requires reading glasses.

The parody trailer starts off with footage from the actual trailer released last month, then shifts focus and takes a look at what the original characters might look like in the new movie, now that it’s been more than a few years and they’ve all aged.

Han Solo’s character is hard of hearing and is seen ordering the Early Bird Special, while Princess Leia is shown struggling with operating R2-D2 while wearing reading glasses. Luke Skywalker, played by James Franco, shuffles along using a walker and uses the force to fill his weekly pill container – pills he needs to control a thyroid problem. One of the funniest scenes shows Chewbacca wearing a surgery cone, obviously looking worse for wear.

Check out the video below.

And with that, we get a “first peek” of how the original Star Wars might have aged over the years. Let us know what you think of the latest SNL Star Wars skit in the comments below, or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
