In a rare display of compassion, George R.R. Martin decided not to pen the horrible, gruesome death of anyone we love for Christmas. Instead, our favorite Santa-Claus-turned-famous-author tweeted out a nice present for Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire fans everywhere over the last couple of weeks. Utilizing the hashtag #12DaysOfWesteros, Martin twisted the words of the great houses of Westeros and made general references to moments in the book and HBO series, giving them a nice injection of holiday cheer.

The twelve days of Westeros officially concluded today, so here they are in order and in all their glory (including the horrifying implications of a red Christmas).
