Why settle for an Xbox One or a Playstation 4 when you can have both in a single unit? Console modder Eddie Zarick has done just that and combined a Playstation 4 and Xbox One into a single 22″ console laptop.
Zarick is no stranger to console modding and in the past has created the custom XBOOK ONE, PLAYBOOK 4, and the XBOOK DUO, which contains an Xbox One and Xbox 360 in the same unit.
The PLAYBOX was custom made for a customer and Zarick says the one issue he came accross was with the capacitive power button on the Playstation 4 side not working consistently – most likely due interference from the Xbox One side. The modded console does power up using the PS4 controller with no issues. The other issue is that the Xbox One side doesn’t have USB ports as he couldn’t get them to extend outside of the case. Ethernet ports and WiFi for both units also works, and the PLAYBOX consists of a single power cord which, given the power requirements of the unit, must be plugged in to use either console.
He goes on to say that there are no cooling issues, and it’s only slightly taller than his XBOOK and PLAYBOOK models. Only one console can be powered at a time and a switch on the back of the unit toggles input between the two consoles.

This particular prototype unit is not for sale, but Zarick mentions that he is willing to build more on a per customer basis at a “substantially” higher cost than his normal XBOOKs or PLAYBOOKs.
