Jimmy Fallon Is The New "Fresh Prince"

Who doesn’t remember Will Smith’s Fresh Prince of Bel-Air? The classic ’90s TV comedy received a makeover of sorts by Jimmy Fallon. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is in Los Angeles this week, and Fallon and his house band, The Roots, parodied The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air opening title sequence – rather faithfully I might add!

Jimmy Fallon has been on a tear since he took over The Tonight Show from Jay Leno almost a year ago. The Saturday Night Live alumnus and former Late Show host, took over back in February of last year and brought the show back to New York. Fallon is no stranger to taking the show on the road and was in Orlando, Florida for four shows last year, and hit up Phoenix, Arizona for a show after the Super Bowl on Sunday before heading to LA for four shows this week.
Fallon has definitely livened up the show and has had a wide variety of guests taking part in everything from Water War (your basic War card game where the losing hand gets a glass of water dumped on them) to giant slapping hands and even Lip Sync battles.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air launched rapper Will Smith’s acting career back in the early ’90s and the show was definitely a staple in many households. Check out the original opening sequence below.

So what do you think? Did Jimmy Fallon and The Roots nail it or what? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
