One Plus And Cyanogen Team Up With SwiftKey

One Plus and Cyanogen are teaming up with third party keyboard maker, SwiftKey, to bring SwiftKey to the One Plus One in CyanogenMod 11S. One Plus has been hinting at the One receiving CyanogenMod 12 Lollipop build sometime in February and now we know it’s coming but first they will push 11S with pre-installed SwiftKey software. SwiftKey’s predictive swyping keyboard is one of the best on the Google Play Store but some users are calling this added bloatware.

“We want OnePlus customers to enjoy all the fun of faster, easier typing from a keyboard that learns from them,” said Eric Collins, SwiftKey’s head of distribution. “It’s our mission to make it easier for everyone to type and communicate on mobile, and we’re proud to partner with an industry disruptor to bring our innovative smart keyboard to more people around the world.”

This move isn’t unusual, teaming up with a company like SwiftKey could garner more attention on One Plus and it’s “flagship killer” device. One Plus and Cyanogen have been involved in a lot of drama lately which could have easily been avoided. Hopefully the SwiftKey deal is moving both companies forward, albeit in different directions. What do you think of SwiftKey being pre-installed on the next One Plus One update? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Facebook and Twitter.
