Longmire Rides Again, Netflix Signs On For Fourth Season

|

For some unknown and drunken reason, A&E suddenly cancelled one of their top rated shows in Longmire. With the show grabbing over 4 million views per episode you would think A&E would have had the contract papers all drawn up and waiting for signatures, instead they had the pink slips ready for the cast and crew. As a matter of fact, Longmire had been A&E’s highest rated “scripted” show. Duck Dynasty was the overall leader in ratings for the network. With the death of the show there were a great many fans who demanded the show return somehow and somewhere. After a long wait we can confirm that Longmire will make its Season 4 home on none other then Netflix.

Longmire fans’ dedication to saving the show has paid off. I’ve learned that Netflix, following several weeks of negotiations, has closed a deal for a 10-episode fourth season of the drama series to premiere in 2015 in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Deadline is reporting that the entire cast has already made deals to return to Season 4 including leads Katee Sackhoff and Robert Taylor.  Deadline also says not to expect all the cast members to stick around, which sounds like some of the characters might meet some sort of end in the new season. We’re looking forward to seeing Season 4 on Netflix and it looks like it’s time to binge watch seasons 1-3 just to catch up on the storylines! What do you think of Longmire’s return?
