Wargaming’s popular World of Tanks is hitting the Xbox One in a big way. The free-to-play online multiplayer tank battle game will be making the move from the Xbox 360 with some functionality that is sure to please gamers.
World of Tanks was one of the first free-to-play games on the Xbox 360 and has seen over 5 million downloads since its launch just over a year ago. Players earn experience for tanks and accessories, as well as currency to buy more tanks and equipment. If you’ve ever played a free-to-game, you can appreciate the time and effort that can go into leveling up and gathering new gear and equipment.
When World of Tanks comes to the Xbox One, gamers need not worry as Wargaming has some great news. Not only will the game support cross-platform play between the Xbox One and the Xbox 360, but you can also transfer your progress from your Xbox 360 to your Xbox One. What’s more, because the game is tied to your Xbox Live account, you can play on either system and maintain your progress between consoles.
Unfortunately an actual release date hasn’t been announced yet aside from coming sometime in 2015. Check out the announcement trailer below.
