Vector Watch Claims To Have 30 Day Battery Life

New smartwatches seem to be popping up left and right now that Google and Apple have both released their own.  Vector now has one in the works that they are saying will have a battery life, with an always on screen, of 30 days.  The screen is black and white only and will be running their custom operating system that they have made from scratch which will be designed to pair with either Android, iOS, and even the often left out Windows Phones.  With that 30 day usage they are also saying that you can manage that with high intense usage.

This will not be a stand alone device, Vector said:

We do not believe that the smartwatch should replace the smartphone.  Quite the opposite.  In the long run, it should bring all information that does not need a big screen to your wrist, in order to save you time, minimize distraction and help you truly live in the present. Information you can consume at a glance that you will get when you expect it and in a way that is convenient for you.

The watch itself will have a 44mm custom solid stainless steel case with a hardened mineral face that will be water resistant up to a depth of 50 meters.  You can either go with a round face or rectangular one depending on which style you prefer.  You can also choose between three bands to go with your watch as well, a solid stainless steel bracelet, a leather strap, or a silicone strap.

Not too much is known about their custom operating system yet.  Vector has said that it will be able to receive, answer, and set notifications and that it will be able to track your activity by measuring steps, calories, and sleep.  They did say they are working on third party app integration with the likes of Nest, IFTTT, and other companies for stocks, weather, and sports.

No release date has been confirmed yet but you can preorder one on their site as of right now.  All of the preorders will include free shipping when they are released and will start at the price point of $199 (£169, €229, $259 AUD).
