Have you ever gone to do the laundry, shave, or make a coffee only to find out you’re out of detergent, shaving cream, or your favourite K-cup flavour? Amazon plans on changing that with their new Amazon Dash Button.
The Dash Button is a simple fob with a button on it which can be hung by the hook or attached to a surface with its sticky back, and branded according to the item – for example Bounty, Gillette, Tide, and others. Simply connect it to your home Wi-Fi network through the Amazon app on your smartphone. When you notice you are running low on something, or god forbid out of coffee on a Monday morning, simply press the button and the order will be sent through your smartphone to Amazon. Your phone will also receive an order alert so you can cancel it if you change your mind, and the Dash Button will only place one order at a time allowing only one order to be active per item until it is delivered to help prevent duplicate orders.
The current list of products eligible for ordering with a Dash Button contains over 250 items including products by Cottonelle, Clorox, Bounty, Huggies, Glad, Olay, Tide, Kraft, and many more. The Dash Button service is free and exclusively for Prime Members in the 50 United States by invitation only and is a limited time offer with a maximum of three Dash Buttons per customer or account.
