Marvel continues to play the Gandalf of superhero movies and is beefing up its already star-studded super hero list with its latest addition of
Bilbo Baggins Martin Freeman to the Captain America: Civil War cast. John Watson Freeman’s role is currently unannounced, with the producer of the third Captain America installment, Kevin Feige simply stating:
From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in ‘The Office,’ Martin’s range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us. We couldn’t be more honored or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Captain America: Civil War’s cast already includes heavy hitters Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanov/Black Widow, Elisabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Sebastian Stan returning as Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier along with Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon. Chadwick Boseman will make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as T’Challa/Black Panther. Rumors have surfaced that Don Cheadle who plays Colonel James Rhodes/War Machine will also make an appearance in the already full docket of characters to fight off supervillain Baron Zemo, played by Daniel Brühl.
The integral transition from Ultron to the looming Infinity War the Avengers are soon to find themselves in, Captain America: Civil War will bridge the phase 2 movies from Marvel into the phase 3 segment. The plot will follow our beloved heroes as an initiative is enacted by the governments of the world to regulate superhuman activities and understandably divide them in support or against the initiative. One team led by Iron Man and the other led by Captain America, the heroes suddenly find themselves fighting former allies in what will be a truly epic battle of superhuman proportions. Civil War is slated to be released May 6, 2016.Source: Marvel.comSource: IMDB.com
