Ozzy Osbourne Gifts $10K To Kids Percussion Group

The man who once bit the head off a bat on stage (sincerely thinking it was fake) is gifting $10,000 to a Kentucky children’s percussion group (Louisville Leopard Percussionists) after he watched their YouTube video cover of Crazy Train. That’s right, Mr. Ozzy Osbourne himself was so struck by the talent of these youngsters he is willing to help them along on their musical journey. Pretty cool and warm hearted from a guy who you might think was heartless. Check out the kids’ Crazy Train cover below. It’s absolutely brilliant!

The video was uploaded in 2012, and it seems it took awhile for Ozzy to see it, but good things come to those who wait. The Courier Journal also reports that the group did a medley of Led Zepplin tunes (also posted to YouTube) and Jimmy Page gave them a shoutout on his Facebook page.

The group is a community non-profit organization funded by donations, performance revenue and album sales. The students come from 48 schools in the Louisville area and practice after school.

The $10K gift from Ozzy is certainly awesome and well deserved, but the bigger story here is the talent these kids have and the passion you can see in how they play. It’s great to see young kids taking up the arts and equally great to see people like Ozzy come along and give them that little extra “attaboy”. What do you think about Ozzy’s gesture?
