Following the invite Samsung sent out to an Unpacked event on Aug. 13, press renders for the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ have been posted by Evan Blass, aka @evleaks on his Twitter account.Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+

While these latest renders certainly look promising, we aren’t too sure about the capacitive buttons shown on the Galaxy Note 5. We’ve seen several concepts and renders before, which were pretty close to what these latest press renders show. It appears that the new phablets will continue the new design motif started by the Galaxy S6, a design heralded for its aesthetics. However, to create such beauty, Samsung did away with both the removable battery and microSD slot.

The Note series is known for its powerhouse specs and it looks like Samsung will continue the tradition with the fifth generation phablet. Codenamed Samsung Noble, the device will sport a Exynos 7420 SoC. The Exynos is an octacore processor with four cores running at 2.1GHz and four running at 1.5GHz. As far as the screen is concerned, Samsung will keep the device at 5.7-inches (5.66 to be exact). As you would expect, the resolution will be that of the QHD variety, coming in at 2,560×1,440.

The device will pack 4GB of RAM too and come with 32GB of internal storage. Unfortunately, the leaker states that the device won’t pack a microSD card slot. It will come with a 16MP rear shooter and a 5MP front camera. It will feature the most current flavor of Lollipop, 5.1.1.

There are a few questions left unanswered. Will the device have a removable battery? Our money says it probably won’t. If not, will there multiple storage options, because while 32GB of storage is a decent amount, it doesn’t go as far anymore.

But that’s about it in terms of information. While this information is unconfirmed, evleaks has been known to be right before. We’re about 13 days away from the seeing what’s in store. Are you holding out for a Note 5, or does a lack of microSD card have you looking somewhere else? Let us know on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ or in the comment section below.
