[UPDATED] Avast Antivirus No Longer On The Google Play Store

,

Whether you need to install an antivirus application on your Android device or not can be hotly debated. Some believe there is no need for such things while others prefer to play their cards safely. Either way, a Reddit user spotted Avast Antivirus is no longer on the Google Play Store, seemingly vanishing into thin air. We’re not certain why the application is no longer there and we have reached out to Avast to find out if it will to let us know why the app has gone up and missing. In the meantime, some users are voicing concerns over Avast’s billing and support. Is the application dead? Will customers still receive support for the application if already installed? Where are those who pay the monthly premium left?

UPDATE: Sunday 8-9-2015 6:10pm CST

Avast responds to our Tweet.

Avast mobile security disappeared like a ghost from Google Play Store. What about the monthly payments? Will they keep charging us every month with out giving the service because the contract says it will be renewed automatically every month and to cancel it visit the Google store app. There is no app there! How to cancel it?

We’ve reached out to Avast via email for some explanation and hopefully we’ll hear back soon. In the meantime if you’re a paying customer you might want to try and get some of your own answers. Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Facebook and Twitter if you get any sort of reply or information.
