Just last week our sister site Techaeris reported on Microsoft’s upcoming October launch event and the products that the company is speculated to be launching. One of the rumoured new products coming out of Microsoft was that of an Xbox One Mini.
The Xbox One Mini was rumoured to drop the Blu-ray drive, be smaller, quieter and about a third the size as the existing Xbox One console. Of course fans took to Twitter to pose the question to Phil Spencer, Microsoft’s Xbox boss. Spencer was short in his response and flat out denied that an Xbox One Mini is coming.
@av_xz Not real.

As goes with the Internet, not everyone believed Spencer’s denial. Another Twitter user was quick to point out that a micro version of the console does indeed appear on the company’s roadmap which was leaked back in 2013.

So for the time being, the rumours have been quashed by Xbox, but companies have denied rumoured products before only to turn around months – or even weeks – later to unveil the exact product they previously denied.
In the meantime, check out some pretty cool concept renderings by Jeremy Leeds Frank over on Twitter!
