The Internet is a fantastic place to waste time. There are websites on top of websites vying for your attention twenty-four hours a day. But what if you don’t know what you’re looking for? What if you’re bored and you want to surf the Internet to kill time but don’t have any particular aim? I’d personally suggest reading through the archives here at Techaeris, but once you’re done with that, what’s left? Google has created a perfect little time-waster; all you have to do is ask. Type “I’m Feeling Curious” in the search bar, and press enter to be whisked away to a seemingly limitless amount of trivia and general knowledge sorts of information.
Were you ever curious about the history of animation when it comes to the Academy Awards? Well, you might not get lucky enough for this to pop up for you, but I was!
Or perhaps you’re an aspiring fashionista who wants to learn some of the histories of fashion. It seems everybody wants to have their little black dress, but when did that become a thing?
There is currently no way to steer these queries, but you don’t know what you’re looking for anyway, remember? You’re just feeling curious so that Google will sate that curiosity with random knowledge. If the quick fact seems interesting, you can follow the included link to get more information about that particular fact. If not, and your curiosity has not subsided, you can click the big blue “Ask Another Question” box to be whisked away to your next random bit of knowledge.
Careful, though; there doesn’t seem to be any limit to how many questions you can actually ask, so a quick bit of boredom could turn into hours upon hours of random trivia if you aren’t careful.
So tell us: are you feeling curious? Let us know about your favorite quick facts in the comments below or on your favorite social media site.
