Inateck Marsbox Bluetooth Speaker Review: One Loud Bluetooth Speaker

|
, , ,

The last Inateck Bluetooth speaker I reviewed was awesome and probably the best one I’ve used. Inateck provided me with another one of their Bluetooth speakers named “Marsbox” and from seeing it has two 5W audio outputs, it’ll be much louder than the BTSP-10 Plus Mini HiFi speaker. Let’s jump right into this Inateck Marsbox Bluetooth Speaker review and see how well it was.

Specifications

  • 10W output (5W x2)
  • 2,200 mAh
  • 10 – 15 hours playback
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • 2.4″ x 2.4″ x 7.3″ (H x W x L)
  • 2.2lbs/710g

What’s In The Box

  • Marsbox Speaker
  • 1x USB charging cable
  • 1x 3.5mm aux cable
  • Manual

Design

When I first looked at the speaker I was unaware that it’s slanted. Though it’s slanted, the unit is black and red and the way it looks is pretty cool.

The front and left side are red, while the right side and back are black. The back is home to the power button, reset button, charging port, and a 3.5mm aux port. On the top there’s the multi-function button (answer call/FM radio), the volume up button, a small hole for the microphone when answering a call, a volume down button, and a play/pause button. At the bottom are two small pegs that will stop the speaker from easily sliding around.

Ease of Use

Setting up Marsbox isn’t that difficult, but I did have to resort to the manual to figure out how to power this speaker on. If you hold down the power button for 3 seconds, it’ll turn the speaker off and on. The LED notification will flash letting you know a Bluetooth device is ready to pair. Learning the rest of the unit is pretty simple. The multi-function button has many uses, as indicated in the name. It’ll allow you to connect to a new Bluetooth device, answer a phone call, or switch to FM Radio. Getting to use the radio is simple as can be. Press the multi-function button and then long press the play/pause button so it’ll be able to get all the frequencies in the area. It does take 30 seconds though. If you need to change the channels, use the volume up and volume down buttons.

Speakers

By having 10W, Inateck doesn’t lie when they say it’s the “loudest Bluetooth speaker”. When I played the first song I had to run to the speaker to turn the volume down. After getting it to just the right volume, I could hear the bass and how great it was. While still impressed with how loud it is, I did notice what sounded like my music was muffled, the reason for that was due to the bass overpowering the treble. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad thing for too much bass, but Inateck could have put in a little more treble into the speaker.

Battery Life

After using an Inateck Bluetooth speaker already, I already had my expectations of how long it should last on a single charge. Even though the battery life is 2,200mAh, you’ll receive around 9 to 15 hours of battery life. I got around 10 hours before I had to recharge the speaker.

Price/Value

With a speaker this loud, you’d think the price would be over $100. While the MSRP is $129.99, it’s currently on sale for $49.99 on Amazon. For that price, the Inateck BP2002 Marsbox Bluetooth Speaker takes the cake.

Wrap Up

I need to stop giving titles away for loudest Bluetooth Speakers because there’s an OEM out there that may beat this one. I’d honestly like to see that day as the Marsbox currently seams unbeatable from the speakers I’ve tried out so far. Even with the bass being louder than the treble, it’s still an overall great sounding Bluetooth speaker.
