Microsoft featured some Windows 10 devices of their own creation at their #Windows10Devices event last week and we honestly came away quite impressed. Today it was Acer’s turn to unveil several new products at their own event in Taipei featuring Microsoft’s latest OS.
First up was the new Aspire R 14. This four-mode notebook features a new hairline-brush metallic finish, diamond-cut edge design, and a thinner 360-degree dual torque hinge allowing for increased flexibility in moving between the device’s four usage modes. The sleek exterior is matched by some impressive specs including 6th Generation Intel Core processors, up to 8GB RAM, SSD storage, and MU-MIMO wireless technology, allowing for faster downloads compared to 802.11ac products. Even with those specs, the Aspire R 14 comes in at only 18.5mm thin with a weight of just 1.9kg (just over 4 pounds). The Acer Aspire R 14 will be available in North America in late October with prices starting at $699USD, and in EMEA in late October with prices starting at €799.
Next was the Aspire Z3-700 all-in-one PC. This 17.3″ AIO features a built in battery, allowing the PC to act in many ways like a large tablet. With battery life of up to 5 hours you can take the Aspire Z3-700 nearly anywhere and have enough juice for some truly productive work, or even entertainment wherever it’s needed. The Z3-700 is slim – only 15.6mm – and relatively light – 2kg (about 4 1/2 pounds), and comes in several different configurations. Available with either an Intel Pentium or Celeron processor, up to 8GB of RAM, and SSD or HDD storage options this AIO should be able to handle plenty of video streaming and other basic types of entertainment. You’ll be looking at a 17.3″ Full HD (1920×1080) touch screen with 10 points of touch input. The Acer Aspire Z3-700 will be available in EMEA by the end of the year with prices starting at €599.
If that weren’t enough, Acer also rolled out some offers on popular hardware on their online store (US only, sorry!). There are three deals to choose from:
- The Acer Switch 11 V is their popular 2-in-1 line with an 11.6-inch display that can be removed from the keyboard to be used in four different modes. The model on offer, the SW5-173-65R3, has a full HD 1920×1200 display and is powered by an Intel Core M-5Y10c processor. This model, normally $649USD, will be discounted $100 to only $549.
- The Aspire V3-574TG-749V notebook PC has a premium aluminum cover with nano-imprint patterning technology for a highly stylized texture that looks and feels great. It comes equipped with a spacious backlit keyboard, powerful 5th generation Intel Core i7-5500U Processor. This model, normally priced at $899USD, will be discounted $100 to only $799.
- Aspire R 13 convertible notebook, model R7-371T-70NY, features the innovative Ezel Aero hingeTM with a U-frame structure which lets users fold it into six usage modes quickly and smoothly. It’s ideal for anyone who doesn’t want to give up a traditional notebook design, but wants more options and flexibility. This model, normally priced at $1499USD, will be discounted $200 to just $1299.
