Actual Pokemon Gym To Open Next Month In Osaka, Japan

|

If you truly want to be the very best like no one ever was, the opportunity to do so will soon exist as there will be a real-life Pokemon Gym opening up in Osaka, Japan on November 19. Sanoyas Interactions announced their plans to build a hands-on “edutainment” facility complete with programs that promote education as will as sharpening the skills necessary to be a top-notch Pokemon trainer.

The Pokemon EXPO Gym will include attractions such as training programs and arcade games like “Charizard Battle Colosseum” and “Gardevoir’s Control Score,” as well as battle and trade with fellow aspiring Pokemon trainers. It will also feature “Battle Bowling” and help centers aided by Machamp and Gardevoir.

The initial admission fee of 500yen, which is equivalent to a little over $4 in US currency, includes a Pokepera membership card and access to an app that tracks your progress, rankings and stats. All other attractions at the gym also come with a charge roughly the same as the admission fee. Fans will also be able to pre-order a Pokémon EXPO Gym Member’s Card & Pass Case starting on October 31.

The EXPO gym not only offers a unique experience for all casual and hardcore Pokemon fans, but it also aids in teaching young children important communication and problem solving skills through the shared appreciation for one of the most popular media franchises in the last 20 years. This along with the prospect of being able to actually digitally experience being in a Pokemon battle will surely make this a major tourist attraction for anyone heading to the Land of the Rising Sun.

There’s no doubt that if this gym becomes a massive success, fans worldwide would be clamoring for a similar facility in their areas.
