The Latest Batman v Superman Sneak Peek Is A Game Changer

For anyone thinking that DC Comics was going to get lost in the fold following the intense action of the latest trailer for Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, the sneak peek for the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will likely change your mind. With the full trailer being slated to be revealed during Jimmy Kimmel Live this Wednesday, December 2nd, at 11:35 p.m. ET.

In less than a minute, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice jumped from the middle of the pack when it comes to buzz surrounding comic book movies to near the front. If the trailer delivers on what this teaser has built up, its momentum could carry the film to the top of everyone’s must watch list for the already stacked 2016 slate.

While there is much going on in the 49 second clip, the obvious sticking point of the trailer will be the unmasking of Batman. The intense moment not only gives a little more context to the ‘desert Batman’ look, but includes the revelation of the Dark Knight’s true identity.

In the modern era where secret identities in comic books have become more of a novelty than a necessity, Bruce Wayne has always kept his existence as the Caped Crusader close to the vest. Seeing Henry Cavill as Superman rip off the iconic cowl off of a captive Bruce Wayne played by Ben Affleck feels that much more impactful because of that fact.

Though DC and Warner Brothers have been serious about keeping Batman v Superman spoilers to an absolute minimum, its widely believed that the clip is part of a dream sequence from Bruce Wayne, barring an unknown Injustice angle. Even then, the action is sure to ramp up the excitement for the film due out on March 25, 2016.
