Google’s Santa Tracker Is Live As Of Today

It’s that time of year again when Google opens up Santa’s Village and the Santa Tracker app to the world allowing kids or adults to take a break, have fun, and help Santa and his friends get ready for Christmas. This year the village has been redesigned and new games were added.

If you’re not too familiar with Santa’s Village, let me try and paint a picture for you:

“Santa’s Village is a hub of activity as the elves code algorithms to tune Santa’s sleigh, translate ‘Happy Holidays’ into Elvish and Danish, and practice their cartography with Dancer, Prancer, Donner and Vixen… all to get Santa ready for his trip around the world on December 24.”

If you visit Santa’s Village in the Santa Tracker app every day, you’ll be helping out by going skydiving with Santa, testing out the weather conditions with Rudolf to make sure Santa’s sleigh can withstand any condition, assisting elves with whatever they need help with, and learning holiday traditions you never knew existed. Each day, something new will be unveiled up until December 24th, but what we can expect is to refresh or learn coding through games, learn about charity groups who are working on renewable energy, and listen to holiday music made by elves.

All this can be done through a desktop, Santa’s Village app for Android, Chromecast, Google Cardboard, and Android Wear. My daughter and I will be checking this out tonight on my Chromebook while the Christmas tree gets decorated. Can’t wait to try it. I’m sure many out there are excited about the holidays, whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, but the question is, have you visited, or do you plan on visiting Santa’s Village in the Santa Tracker app before December 24th?
