With the current election season in full swing in the United States, the timing couldn’t be better for Netflix and its latest House of Cards trailer. With the fourth season set to drop on March 4th, another trailer featuring none other than Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey, debuted during the Golden Globes tonight.
If you’re not familiar with the series, here’s a quick overview:
Ruthless and cunning, Congressman Francis Underwood (Oscar® winner Kevin Spacey) and his wife Claire (Robin Wright) stop at nothing to conquer everything. This wicked political drama penetrates the shadowy world of greed, sex, and corruption in modern D.C. Kate Mara (American Horror Story) and Corey Stoll (Midnight in Paris) costar in the first original series from David Fincher (The Social Network) and Beau Willimon (The Ides of March).
If you’re not caught up on the series, you’ll want to skip this trailer as it contains flashbacks from the previous three seasons during Frank Underwood’s speech to the camera.
In case you missed it, this trailer follows up the Frank Underwood campaign commercial which revealed a aptly titled website for the upcoming season: FU2016.com.
You have to admit, the trailer is pretty clever with Underwood’s soliloquy regarding elections, and how we as voters get the representatives we deserve. The montage with Underwood’s past “interactions” with people close to him is very fitting and provides a sharp juxtaposition to his speech.
If you’re not caught up yet on one of Netflix’s best series, there’s still time. As previously mentioned, House of Cards season 4 drops in its entirety on Netflix on March 4th. Get ready to binge!
