After a long week at CES 2016 I decided to sleep in this Monday only to wake up to the news that David Bowie has passed away at age 69. Bowie had been battling cancer for the past 18 months and the vile disease finally claimed one of rock’s greatest players. One of the greats from the late 60’s until today, Bowie not only wrote, recorded and performed music he also was an actor. A statement was released at the time of his death.
“David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.”
Bowie is survived by his wife Iman, one of the best supermodels on the planet, as well as their daughter Alexandria “Lexi” Zahra Jones and his son Duncan Jones. Throughout his 40 year career he’s released 25 albums with his final album, Blackstar, released this year January 8th. His most memorable movie role came in Labyrinth where he played the role of the goblin king Jareth.
David Bowie has been an influence on countless artists and has served up a buffet of entertainment to his fans, he will be sorely missed . We here at Techaeris extend our condolences and prayers to his family.
