Earlier this week, the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences announced the 19th annual DICE Awards nominations. The Xbox exclusive Rise of the Tomb Raider led the way with nine nominations including Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, and Adventure Game of the Year. It was also announced that Hideo Kojima will be inducted into the AIAS Hall of Fame, and Satoru Iwata — the former president of Nintendo — will posthumously receive a Lifetime Achievement award. The awards ceremony will be hosted by comedian Pete Holmes on February 18th.

Awards, I am especially impressed by the broad range of titles cateringg to gamers’ increasingly sophisticated and diverse tastes,” said Martin Rae, president, Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. “It is always gratifying to watch our industry and its many artists and craftsmen grow and continue to challenge and thrill audiences. February 18th will be another memorable celebration of the best in interactive entertainment bolstered by the playful humor of host Pete Holmes.”
