Miley Cyrus To Star In Woody Allen Amazon Series

Love her or hate her, Miley Cyrus is hot property in Hollywood and has just snagged a starring role in Woody Allen’s upcoming Amazon series. Starring alongside Miley Cyrus will be screenwriter and comedian Elaine May and of course Woody Allen. Little is known about the series that Allen agreed to with Amazon back in January 2015 and Allen himself admitted he had no ideas back when he inked the deal. Allen is an Academy Award and Golden Globe winner who has had his share of personal controversies throughout his life, perhaps this is why he chose Miley Cyrus to star in his series.

For her part, Cyrus started off as a child actor in Hannah Montana which quickly took off with kids and was a hit, she’s won the Billboard Music awards as well as the Bambi awards. Her casting alongside Elaine May is a curious one and it will be interesting to see what Allen has planned for this series. May helped write such films as Tootsie, The Birdcage, Labyrinth and Dangerous Minds. She starred in films such as 1967’s Enter Laughing and 2000’s Small Time Crooks and directed 1972’s Heartbreak Kid.

Even with Allen’s tumultuous past and controversies, actors generally benefit from working with the actor/writer/director so landing this role is a notch in Cyrus’s belt. Now we just need Allen to give us some idea of what this series is going to be about. That is if he even knows himself. Amazon also hasn’t released a title or details on the project.
