Punit Soni, the man who helped on many Google products such as Google+, Google News and Google Books has quit his job at Flipkart for destinations unknown. Punit Soni was also part of the product development team at Motorola when Google owned the mobile device company. Soni was a key player in making Motorola relevant again with devices such as the Moto X, Moto G and Moto E smartphones. Motorola made a huge turn around after Google took over and really streamlined the Moto software the company was running with a more stock Android experience.
Punit Soni left Google to pursue the Chief Product Officer position at Flipkart, one of India’s largest tech companies. Soni had been with Flipkart for less than a year and other websites claim there were rumors of Soni leaving months ago. The company had refuted those rumors claiming Soni had been reassigned to work in a different part of Flipkart. But now the company is acknowledging Soni’s departure.
It’s unknown why Soni decided to quit but it is known that other executives within the company have also quit their positions. The last we’ve heard from Soni was a few days ago on Twitter where he tweeted a cryptic message, almost as announcing his departure from Flipkart.
Our ambitions are only limited by our ability to dream them up. This is probably the greatest gift of life.

No one is sure where Punit Soni is heading next but we’re fairly certain he’ll land on his feet wherever he may decide to go. With the amount of talent he has there will be someone there to sweep him up quickly, perhaps Google or even Motorola/Lenovo is back in his future?
