Legion will be the WoW franchise’s sixth expansion and will bring about the arrival of the Demon Hunter class to Azeroth as well as new maps, new class abilities, an entirely expanded talent tree system, and much, much more! In the Legion press release, Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment, is looking forward to the battles that will ensue in August:
Legion opens a dark and thrilling new chapter in one of the Warcraft series’ greatest conflicts, and things will never be the same for some of Azeroth’s most iconic heroes and villains. This expansion is loaded with features and content that give players whole new ways to explore the world and customize their heroes. We’re looking forward to sending everyone into battle against the Burning Legion this August.
The game is currently available for pre-purchase at the standard price for the Standard Edition, both digital and physical copies will go for $49.99 USD. A Digital Deluxe version will also be available to the tune of $69.99 USD and, according to the press release, comes with extra in-game features for various Blizzard titles including an Illidari Felstalker mount and pet for World of Warcraft, a Felstalker mount for Heroes of the Storm, a helm transmog and wings for Diablo III, and a pair of fel-infused StarCraft II portraits. The Collector’s Edition will be available retail-only for $89.99 USD and will include all of the digital bonuses from the Digital Deluxe Edition as well as a full-color hardcover art book, a behind-the-scenes two-disc Blu-ray/DVD set, a CD soundtrack, and a Legion mouse pad. Remember that CE supplies are limited so check your local retailer for pre-ordering availability.
Any pre-purchased version of Legion will come with a free character boost to 100 (the maximum level in Legion) available to be used immediately and will also unlock the Demon Hunter class early.
