Music Snapshot: April Showers

It’s April and time for another Music Snapshot, with music that’s keeping the club scene fresh and sparkling. I have some brand new music to share with you today and some you’ve probably already heard. Without further ado, let’s get started…

First on the docket are a couple of Jersey brothers making up the electric band Cash Cash that not only have hits on the billboard charts but also on the gaming soundtrack circuit with their Sega remixes for games like Sonic the Hedgehog.

Famous for his huge hit “Satisfaction,” Benny Benassi has been a powerhouse out of Milan that’s done remixes for the likes of Madonna, Pitbull, Skrillex and many others. This collab with Chris Brown is the latest soon to be anthem.

German DJ and producer Robin Schulz has been busy the past couple of years churning out hits like “Sugar” with Francesco Yates and the “Prayer in C” remix of French-Israeli pop-duo Lilly Wood & The Prick. The latest installment features AKON of Konvict/Kon Live Records.

The brainchild of UK born Gareth Emery who has shared the stage with greats like Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten, he was the subject of a weird phone call from a publicity company that offered advertising to keep up with his peers. He was highly offended at this and even asked fans not to vote for him for the highly controversial DJ Mag “DJ of the Year” title. This track is a parody to that mentality that he loathes, lightening up the mood in our April Snapshot. Gareth also hosts his own show on SiriusXM.

CVNT5 – “CVNT5” (warning: NSFW)  (iTunes)(Google Play)

Danish DJ Daniel Kandi has been around since 2000 releasing trance tracks for the Above & Beyond’s label Arjuna Beats (named after the famous beach in India that was the birthplace of the hippie movement). He is back with his latest track now on his own label Always Alive Recordings. He also has his own show every third Friday on Afterhours FM.

Throwback: Daniel Kandi – “Venice Beach (Original Mix)” (Arjuna Beats) (iTunes)(Google Play)

Dubstep DJ & producer Joshua Steele (known as Flux Pavilion) brings us this latest track out of his 2015 album Tesla. Brooklyn born Matthew Koma provides the vocals.

Swedish DJ Alessandro Lindblad (Alesso) has been dominating the charts with several tracks even though he only learned how to DJ in 2010 thanks to fellow Swede Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia. In this latest track he is teamed up with Norwegian duo Nico and Vinz, who soared the charts with their hit “Am I Wrong.”

Alesso feat. Nico & Vinz –”I Wanna Know” (iTunes)(Google Play)

A strong musical background makes Gryffin a powerhouse that sells out at every show he headlines, without actually having released any original material. He has worked with Josef Salvat many times so it’s no surprise that this brand new track is an instant hit.

Gryffin feat. Josef Salvat – “Heading Home” (iTunes)(Google Play)

One half of the trance duo Elucidate, Ken Loi comes back with this brand new track featuring vocals by Thomas Daniel that will see a lot of airplay in the coming months. Get ready to hit the buy button in 3…2….1…

I introduced Major Lazer in my last music snapshot post as edm duo Diplo and Switch with their Moombahton hit “BOOM.” This latest track features Nyla and Fuse to bring you more reggae flavored style. Worth noting is that Diplo has another project with Skrillex called Jack Ü that’s also hitting the charts hard and fast.
