We first brought word to you of Turn 10’s Forza Motorsport hitting Windows 10 back in March, and the company has announced that the Forza Motorsport 6: Apex Open Beta will launch next week on May 5th.
Apex will utilize Turn 10’s proprietary ForzaTech™ engine combined with the power and performance of DirectX 12 to introduce new gamers to the Forza Motorsport franchise on Windows 10 computers. Featuring a lineup of 63 cars on 20 track configurations across six locations, including night and wet-weather variants, players will be able to access a new career mode, showcase events, and achievements. While the cloud-based Drivatar system will be in place and the game will include asynchronous leaderboards, the game will not feature online multiplayer or the livery design editor.
Turn 10 will release beta updates throughout the summer, including a set of curated liveries, racing wheel support, the ability to disable Vsync, and an in-game framerate counter. Turn 10 is looking forward to gamer feedback throughout the beta as well, stating that “feedback is crucial in shaping both the future of Apex as well as the Forza series on Xbox One and PC.”
