Following the Chrome Desktop Browser Material Design makeover that was unveiled last week, it looks like a YouTube Material Design overhaul is being tested by Google.
The most noticeable changes are the left navigation and the search field and the homepage layout.

Channel pages are also receiving a pretty big overhaul, and look a lot more colorful and bold.
Video pages on the other hand, where people spend most of their time on YouTube look to only be getting minor tweaks:

To get a peek at the YouTube Material Design preview, follow the following steps:
- go to https://www.youtube.com/?gl=US
- open the developer tools (ctrl + shift + i)
- go to the `Resources´ tab and delete the VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE cookie for the youtube domain
- go to the console and define the VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE cookie using the following command:
document.cookie=”VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=Qa1hUZu3gtk;path=/;domain=.youtube.com”;- reload the page
We were able to get this to work using Chrome in incognito mode, using Chrome while signed in doesn’t appear to work at this time.
