Is This The First Look At The OnePlus Three?

, ,

It seems like the rumor mill has started for what could be the next generation of the OnePlus phone, or better yet, the OnePlus Three. Two photos of what could be the OnePlus Three have appeared on Weibo from someone who claims to have the first hands on the newest device from OnePlus.

The pictures themselves aren’t the best, but it’s still clear enough the get a sense of what the phone may look like. The design doesn’t look to take anything from the OnePlus Two other than the home button, but OnePlus might be going a different route on design. The device doesn’t look metal, but the texture does remind me of the HTC Droid DNA. All in all, the back of the phone looks similar to the HTC One M9 other than the flash placement and the camera bump.

As for the front of the device, the physical home button is still there, but what we don’t know is if the home button will act as a fingerprint scanner. The front facing camera is on the left hand side this time around, whereas the camera on the OnePlus Two was on the right side. OnePlus seems to have also brought back the three position notification switch.

A quick spec sheet on the OnePlus Three:

  • 5 inch 1080p display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC
  • 4 or 6GB of RAM
  • 16MP rear facing camera
  • 8MP front facing camera
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Oxygen OS

Nothing yet as to when the phone will come out, but rumors state it should be towards the end of this month. We will need to take all of this with a grain of salt until the device is officially unveiled. So, what are your thoughts about the first look of the OnePlus Three?
