Yup, Android Nougat. Though, I’d have to say, the new mascot looks more like a nut bar or nut roll. I personally think either of those would have been better names, even if my ultimate best case scenario would have been Android Nerds. I know Google worked out a deal with Kit Kat several versions ago, so maybe they weren’t in the mood to have to license another snack food for an Android version name, but really Android Nerds would have fit so perfectly I just wouldn’t have been able to handle it.
Before all of the torches and pitchforks come out, I am, and have been an avid Android user since the G1 days, and would have proudly worn the Android Nerds name like a badge of honor. Even something like Android Nuts would have been great. We can all be a bit nutty at times, so maybe the version name of our favorite robot-based mobile OS could reflect that as well?
