Could a 7-inch Huawei Google tablet be on the way?

|

If a tweet by Evan Blass, a popular “leaker” of Android devices, is any indication, we could be seeing a new 7-inch Google tablet from Huawei this year. The Nexus 7 tablet was definitely a favourite of Android users for a few years, but the last release we saw was the Nexus 7 (2013) three years ago. That tablet was a pretty solid device with its  1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2 GB of memory, a 1920×1200 pixel display (323 pixels per inch; 127 ppcm), dual cameras (1.2 MP front, 5 MP rear), stereo speakers, and built-in inductive Qi wireless charging.

We’re expecting a Google announcement on October 4th during their anticipated event, where two new rumoured Nexus Pixel smartphones will be unveiled. It’s quite possible we could see a Pixel tablet joining the Google lineup. Of course, rumoured details are light, but a 7-inch tablet with 4GB of RAM would definitely be of interest to a number of users. Considering Huawei developed the Nexus 6P for Google, a Huawei Google tablet isn’t a far stretch of the imagination.

What do you think about a new 7-inch Google tablet? What specs would you like to see in it? Would you pick one up if the price was right? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
