No, the Tower in Destiny is not going to close

Rumors can get a little crazy sometimes in this day and age, and it’s not always technology to suffer from leaked — or not — rumors. All it takes is a few words to start that rumor, but rumors can then be stopped by an official announcement. One rumor that may have caused some people to think is that the Tower in Destiny would be closing after the next expansion, Destiny: Rise of Iron is released. Of course, Bungie has responded to the rumor and we now have confirmation that the Tower will stay where it’s at.

So, with both the Tower and the Reef not going anywhere as Bungie doesn’t have plans to go away with them, players instead will have a new, additional social space in Rise of Iron, and it’s called Felwinters Peak. As to why Bungie would be doing this, adding one new social space instead of taking one away, is to most likely give people another place where they can meet up. I think it’s a smart move on Bungie’s part to add in a third place to get new bounties and find Xur, but at the same time, it’s another location that does the same as the other two. Either way, it’s going to be a new place to explore and talk with people and probably get new quests and raids.

Destiny: Rise of Iron comes out in a few more days on September 20th. With Bungie stating that the Tower will not close after Rise of Iron comes out, and another social spot showing up, do you think it’ll be used just as much as the Tower and the Reef?
