There are still plenty of OEMs building very competent and impressive devices that cost significantly less while still managing to handle just about anything you throw at them. Huawei may not be seeing much success in the west yet, but that hasn’t stopped the internationally prominent company from pumping out quality hardware for very approachable prices. Their Honor 5X got generaly favorable reviews , including one from us. And their recently released Honor 8 is a handsome mid-range phone that can hang with the big boys. With no intention of slowing down, the Honor brand has announced 3 products that continue to impress with their potential and price. Although both tablet and smartphone are very capable and priced attractively, it is a bit of a letdown that both are shipping with Android 6.0. Updates are expected but not guaranteed. Compound that with the less-than-impressive EMUI 4.1 skin, and you would be right to be at least a little concerned about the user experience on either device.

The Watch S1 is definitely an interesting entry from the Chinese manufacturer. Although it is unknown for sure, it is almost certainly not running anything resembling Android Wear. The rumor that Huawei will be turning to Tizen for their smartwatches going forward is still possible but this is almost definitely not that either. The S1 is likely more of a fitness tracker with limited smartwatch capabilities. However the claimed 6 days of battery life is defiantly impressive, as is the IP68 rating.

There is no word if any of these products will ever leave China but considering Huawei’s desires to break into the US market, there is little doubt about something from this launch finding its way over here. All three products are available for pre-order with full availability on October 25th.
