OK, YouTube surfing can be fun, informative, entertaining and sometimes confirm you’re not a total idiot. Lately I’ve been playing an amazing pinball game on my iPhone 7 Plus called PinOut. Check it out here for iOS and Android. It’s basically a pinball machine game where I’m mashing the bottom of my iPhone 7 Plus screen down like pinball flippers. The game is very entertaining and fun, though it only has seven levels and overtime so it can be completed quickly. But I digress. While I was playing PinOut on my iPhone 7 Plus recently I kept hearing this cracking sound coming from my 7 Plus. At first, I chalked it up to my imagination and just let it go, but it kept happening which led me to search YouTube and I found this video by iJustine.
After watching this video I took my iPhone 7 Plus out of its Moshi case and performed a slight twist just as iJustine does in her video. Sure enough, the crack sound was there — the same sound I had been hearing as I played PinOut that kept annoying the hell out of me. I’m not too sure what is causing this cracking sound, but reading through the comments on iJustine’s video there are others who are experiencing this problem. Some are explaining it as possibly the front glass panel isn’t seated properly and is popping in and out which sounds like a crack.
Whatever it is, this is one iPhone owner who’ll be making an appointment with my local (45 minutes away) Apple store to investigate the issue. I also plan on sending Apple PR an email asking about the problem and sending them this article along with iJustine’s video to see if I can get an answer or two.
